Description

This Anglo-German Conference brought together in the V&A writers, scholars and cultural administrators from both countries to celebrate the bicentenary of the royal couple who gave their name to the museum, along with two major writers, George Eliot and her Prussian counterpart as a great realist novelist, Theodor Fontane. The working language of the conference was English and the proceedings were held in the Lydia and Manfred Gorvey Lecture Theatre adjacent to the Silver Gallery.
